In view of the growing tension and expansion of military operations in Ukraine, we are starting a fundraising campaign for humanitarian aid
PROJECT 687.

What will we provide? Food, water, medicines, power generators, fuel, equipment for internal migrant centres and everything that will be needed at this time.

We are in contact with the Salesians (SDB) and the Salesian Sisters (FMA) working in Ukraine. Thanks to God everyone is safe! At the moment they have enough food and everything that is needed, but the situation is evolving. Many Ukrainians began to flee the areas affected by the bombings. Panic has broken out in many places. Some banks have been closed, traffic jams are created at city exits and queues at gas stations. Salesians are preparing to welcome internal migrants fleeing war. They will need help to provide them with food, water, medicine, electricity generators, fuel, mattresses, blankets… In addition to material support, the Ukrainians also need spiritual and psychological support. In the current situation, it is imperative to remain calm and not succumb to misinformation.

The Salesians and the FMAs ask first of all for the support of prayer. Let us pray for peace in Ukraine and in the whole world.

On the morning of February 24, we received tragic news from Ukraine. The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported on the attacks on border units and checkpoints. Martial law has been introduced throughout the country. The local population was ordered to stay at home. There are missile attacks in many cities.

Salesians have been working in Ukraine for 30 years. They run schools, parishes, oratories, a retreat house and a boarding school. They support the poor, especially children and young people from abandoned and dysfunctional families. They are present in Bóbrka, Przemyślany, Korosteszów, Żytomierz and Odessa.

The Daughters of Mary Help of Christians began working in Ukraine in 1992, a year after the country regained its independence. They opened their first work in Lviv, the second in Odessa, and last year they started working in Kiev, where they opened a primary school. The missionaries have been supporting girls in Distance Adoption Program for many years. In Lviv and Odessa they host young students from poor families.

We provide the bank account numbers where you can donate funds to help Ukraine.
